I picked up The Sick Cow for Nye at the Scrapstore the other day.  I liked the illustrations and threw it in my trolly without reading the story, just excited to read a new books at bed time.  It’s a somewhat obscure story about a sick cow who cannot be cured by the cow doctor so they have to call in the specialist who apparently specialises in cow identity crisis.

I love finding books that Nye realy enjoys, especially ones that take me by surprise.  The pictures in this book are very old fashioned but bright fun and clear.  He picks up so many words from our bedtime reading, so  I often pause to see if he knows what word comes next, and amazingly he knows a lot more of the words than I realise.  In this book, Nye’s favourite words are ‘sick cow’ ‘Dr’ and ‘Medicine’ .
