Living Arrows

Living ArrowsAneurin you truly love and cherish your sister.  Here you are sharing your beloved dog with her and even a biscuit. (despite me trying to explain, babies drink milk…) This image isn’t perfect but it reminds me of this moment, the first day ‘back to work’ of 2014.  Your behaviour has been terrible this morning, ever since your daddy left for work you have been throwing, moaning and huffing.  This picture captures a moment of bliss, and it was lovely until soon after I took it you smacked your sister in the face.  You were annoyed that I was trying to tell you to be gentle.  I wish you understood what being gentle was, it would help enormously.  All that said, the good outweighs the bad and I am proud that you are learning to share.  This is the start of your journey as a big brother.

SONY DSCLittle Evelina, I am afraid you were born into a blogging family.  It is the start of your journey and already I am placing you on the living room floor on random bits of fabric to ‘document’ your life.  I know it’s silly. Blimey, I can see it for sure in this photo, but if I didn’t take these photos I would fear I had missed something.   Have no fear, your brother is here to protect you, even if at this moment that means kissing you with a ‘”mwah” and banging his head aginst yours. (potentially a Glasgow kiss…) You spent your first month sleeping, eating, cooing, smiling and being cuddled by your daddy.  It was a good month.

*These are my images for week 1 of the Living Arrows project on I heart Snapping.

  2. I love the pictures. A bonus of blogging is that you do tend to take more photos, all the more lovely images to look back on and remember when you have a miserable teenager!

    • Thank you, I am forever pronouncing them to people, but it’s my own fault :) My only fear is to miss the joy of the moments, it’s really hard to strike a balance between recording and overdoing it.

    • Thanks, yes indeed I shall just capture it while I can. I’m certain they won’t be so impressed when they are at high school :)

  10. I think these every day captures sometimes tell more of a story than set up photos. These are beautiful in your own way, because they remind you of certain moments in your life. Gorgeous little ones x

    • Thank you, I tried my hardest to let them be more natural to tell life how it is rather than how we want it to be.

  18. What a lovely idea. I often look back and not only wish I had taken more photos, but taken the time to write down what was happening around them to. It is true what they say – it really does go so quick, and it’s so easy to forget even the most precious moments.
PS. Glasgow kiss – lmbo xx

  19. This will be such a wonderful thing for your kids to look back on when they’re older – not just for the images of them but the items that surround them, insulating the scope of their budding lives. I can hear it now, “Oh look, I remember that wood-pattern cloth…”

  31. This is such a lovely post. I think my favourite line though was about being in a blogging family. My boys they feel the pain. My two year old is such a poser now, and when my 6 year old gets a new toy he asks if he can take a video to show the people. 2014 is the year to live it up. I have brilliant expectations. I look forward to watching your journey as a family of 4 x

  33. Haha, I loved the bit about ‘being born into a blogging family’. My daughter is a true blog baby, it’s like they’re famous before they’re even born.
Lovely photos of your gorgeous twosome together. Would it be bad if I shamelessly plugged a new monthly photo project I’m doing with a few other bloggers, it’s called Siblings? Oops, seems like I already did! ;)
Thanks so much for linking up to Living Arrows, looking forward to seeing your future photos. x
