Get City Style – Creating the ideal office space

Let’s face it, we’ve all got work that needs to be done, and it’s great to have somewhere to do it that keeps us productive and happy.

I’ve been lucky enough to work in a variety of different office environments over the last few years, from Bank in the city of London to here at home in the Cotswolds.  A great office space is invaluable, a place to be creative, productive and work collaboratively.  I find it so inspiring to see how other people work, and to put into practise tips for creating the ideal office space.

Having a personal space
Most of us work in open plan offices with limited space but I just love to make where I am personal to me.  Whatever size of desk space you have. its great to feel you can express yourself, even inspire yourself.   I personally love to browse Etsy for inspirational prints that really make me think.  The one below is my personal favourite and inspires me to carry on, be realistic and grateful.

Be Comfortable
Do you know how many hours a day you’ll be sitting at your desk? A recent article suggested that British workers spend an average of 5 years sitting at a desk over their lifetime.  With all that time, it’s important to take the time to ensure that your chair, desk and monitor are at a comfortable hight and in the right position.

Choose the right location
Where you are based can make a massive difference to what business opportunities are available.  Although flexible working is increasing, collaboration between businesses is still vital.  For me London is the hub of business activity in the UK, it has the best transport links and provides the best opportunities for collaboration.  But, perhaps you are a start up or small business and don’t require a full office but still want a professional space.  For this type of office space, Flexioffices is a great place to find a range of options that would suit your needs.

Disclosure: Post written in collaboration with Flexioffices, all thoughts words and opinions are my own.
